Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s Arts, Science and Commerce College, Harsul was
established in June 1993 for providing higher education to the rural, tribal and educationally
deprived students. It is located at Harsul, the western tribal region of Nashik district
approximately 52 kms away from Nashik city. Harsul has a widespread area full of the
mountains and hills with its natural flora and fauna. It has been declared as ‘Tribal Zone’ by
the Govt. of Maharashtra. The majority of population belonging to tribal communities are
poor and illiterate.
The college is run by Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir, Nashik, one of the leading and reputed
educational institutes of Maharashtra, under the able guidance of General Secretary,
Honourable Dr. Prashant Hiray, Coordinator Honourable Dr Apoorva Hiray and Principal Dr.
M. R. Deshmukh. The Motto of the institution is 'Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay'.
Accordingly, the college continues serving to the cause of quality higher education for the
tribal and rural people.
