About Department of Hindi

       The Department of Hindi was established in 1993 with the objective to acquaint students with the Hindi language and literature. The department offers UG courses in Hindi. Since then, the department has been imparting traditional value-based education as well as job-oriented training to the students. The Department organized various programs & seminars to enhance the communicative competence of the students and to equip them for different job opportunities. The department has a well-equipped Departmental Library with a collection of text, reference books, dictionaries, thesaurus, books on Hindi Grammar, competitive exam and novels. The Department has well-qualified and research-oriented faculty who persistently endeavor to create and develop the literary sensibilities of the students. The faculty working as a Research Guide. The Faculty of our Department has published 2 books. The faculty received one state level award and one best Hindi Teacher award. The faculty nominated as a member of Board of Study in Hindi in Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and MGV’s BoS Chairman of Hindi. Every year the department celebrates Hindi Divas and organizes different programs to make students aware of the significance of Hindi as a National language. The department is organizing activities for skill development of students like Advertisement Competition, Elocution Competition, Essay Competition, Handwriting Competition, Story Telling Competition etc. every year. The department also organizing drama which is based on the syllabus and students are well played their roles. The department has maintained 80-90% result of UG courses every year. Many Students are successfully working in various Government and private sectors like Schools, Colleges, Police Department, Talathi, Multi-National Companies and they started their own business also. Department has successfully Organized many Seminar/Conferences. The Faculty presented and published a Research Paper in various National and International Conferences.

Enhancing the Writing Skill Competence of the Students through Differen

Initiatives

Objectives of the Practice:

• To develop creative writing of the students.
• To develop the communication skills of the students.
• To build up the confidence of the students to speak Hindi fluently.
• To develop presentation skill of the students
• To increase confidence on stage of the students.
• To aware students of different job opportunities.
• To equip students to face global challenges.

The Context:

To improve writing skill and communication skill of the students, Hindi department organizes poster, essay and elocution competition every year. Through poster competition and advertisement writing competition, the hidden qualities of the students are given scope. The students express the new ideas through poster and advertisement writing competition. The writing and communication skills develop through these activities.

Evidence of Success

The students responded positively and enthusiastically to all the initiatives taken by the department for enhancing communicative and writing skill competence of the students. The students of the department participated in various competitions.

Problems Encountered and Resources Required:

The department faces a number of problems in the execution of the best practice. The students admitted to the college are from rural and tribal background. They come from a background where they did not have good school facilities. Since there is no Hindi in Junior College, students are not interested to learn new language when they come to senior college. The faculty has to struggle a lot encouraging them to enroll in the course create confidence in them and keep them motivated.
