The Department of Political Science has been established in June 1993. Political Science is taught at the special level in the college. The College is administered by Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir, the motto of our institution is “Bahujan Hitay and Bahujan Sukhay.” The department, very actively participate in all the events of the college. Apart from regular teaching learning activities, various extracurricular activities are conducted for the students. The Department has organized State Level Seminar on the topic “India and International Politics”. The Department organizes Guest Lectures on current Political & Social issues for the students.

1.Political Science teacher shall provide proper guidance and supervision of the Class Tests, Project Work, and Assignments, undertaken by students.
2.Political Science teacher will strive for to make the teaching more effective and interesting to the students by the use of multi-media teaching aids.
3.Political Science teacher will contribute in the arrangement of guest lectures, seminars etc., to supplement regular lectures and also help in conducting extra academic activities for the overall development of students.
4.Political Science Teacher is expected to devote his/her time for research, lesson preparation, valuation of test/assignment etc.
5.Political Science Teacher shall be present in the department during the working hours of the institution, unless, otherwise he/she goes on other official duties with prior permission from the concerned authority.
1.Teaching of both core and elective courses as allocated by the Head of the Department.
2.Conducting Tutorials, Class Tests, Oral Examinations, and seminars of the subjects assigned to him/her in an effective manner.
3.The Political Science teacher is required to plan and make complete preparation well in advance to effectively teach the allotted theory courses.
4.He/she should prepare the Individual Teaching Plan indicating schedule of lectures, topics, tests, assignments, at the beginning of Academic year and submit the same to the HOD.
5.Each faculty member is required to maintain the record of class work, attendance and continuous assessment neatly, properly and in time. This should be produced to the Head of the Department (HOD) as and when called for and should be handed over to the HOD.
6.The faculty of any course is required to watch the attendance and academic performance of each student of his/her course and take necessary steps at his/her command to improve the student’s progress.
7.Each faculty member is required to keep a file containing question papers set by him/her for the course handled, copy of answer sheets of the students after evaluation, for production to the academic audit.
8.If the faculty member is assigned as Mentor for a group of students, he/she should maintain the list of students under him / her, their contact details, address/phone/mail ID etc., so that the student’s progress could be monitored, The Mentor is expected to maintain cumulative record of Mentees such as Attendance, Result Analysis etc. The Mentor should also help the HOD in counseling poorly performing students.
9.The faculty member shall carry out any other academic related activity that may be assigned to him by the HOD/Higher Authorities from time to time.
10.As research publications in refereed journals of international importance not only improve the individual’s image but also of the institution, every faculty member should strive to bring out such quality publications.
11.A faculty member should see that the Department, Language laboratory are kept clean, neat and tidy with the help of personnel assigned for this purpose.
12.Any other activity(s) related to Department or Institutional Development that may be assigned to the faculty member depending on the need.

1.Faculties should maintain punctuality and must demonstrate professionalism and follow work ethics.
2.Under the The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 or COTPA, 2003 and UGC Office Circular No. 1-9/2006 ( CPP-II) smoking and consumption of tobacco products are banned in the College and its vicinity, all the faculties must abide and adhere these regulations.
3.A proper dress code should be followed by the faculties as per the guidelines issued by the Government and the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir.
4.Energy Conservation: switching off lights/fans/bulbs etc. White leaving the department.
a)In case the HoD is on leave the charge of HoD will be handed over to the next senior most faculty (or Associate Professor).
b)If both HoD and senior most faculty (or Associate Professor) are on leave then the charge of HoD will be handed over to Assistant Professor (Grant).
c)If all HoD, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor are on leave then Principal of the college will take decision of handing over the charge of HoD.
i.A faculty member is required to make alternative arrangement to handle his/her scheduled course work and other works whenever he/she goes on leave.
ii.As far as possible a faculty member should not miss the scheduled class and only under unavoidable circumstances alternative arrangement can be made. This will ensure better compliance of scheduled classes.
iii.A faculty member shall be punctual in attending class and leave the class room after his/her class is over and only after the arrival of the faculty for the next period or instruct the students to go to the laboratory/workshop for practical classes, as the case may be.

In rapidly changing socio-economic aspect of Indian society the younger generation needs to be educated about the multicultural aspect of Indian society and to maintain the secular fabric of the society.
Through teaching of the syllabus of Under-Graduate Political Science we inform the students about the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution moreover students are also aware about various Indian Political Thoughts. Likewise Celebrating Constitution Day and Voters Day we inform students about necessity of the constitution in a democracy simultaneously we aware students about the significance of voting for the survival of the democracy.

Large percentage of the students of the department are from Rural or semi-urban background furthermore in the adolescent age most of the students are ignorant and unaware about their fundamental and democratic rights.
To inculcate democratic and humanistic principles among students the Department observes a Democratic Fortnight wherein students participate actively more they are informed various factors of democracy and process of democracy.
When students graduate they are well informed as well as aware about the Indian Constitution, the background of Indian Constitution. Furthermore, students are well informed about election process and importance of voting in democracy.
Additionally, we ingrain among students that all human beings are equal and have right to a dignified life.
